01About

We build organizations that can see, decide and act as one system.

Cognito was founded on a simple observation: growing companies often become less intelligent as they add more people, tools and data. We build the infrastructure that reconnects those signals to decisions and execution.

02Who runs what

Three practices, and who owns each

Cognito is one company with three practices. Naming who owns each is how a client knows whose problem it is when something needs to change.

The intelligence we build and run — off the shelf, or built for you.

The operating layer around it: integration, transformation, and running what we install.

Two of the three are founder-led today. We say so rather than inventing names for them.

03The founder

Moore Dagogo-Hart

Founder & Principal Architect

Ex-Goldman Sachs engineer. Based in Lagos, Nigeria. Moore brings a rare combination of institutional finance rigour and deep systems thinking to every product Cognito ships.

Co-founded Zap Africa — Nigeria's first non-custodial crypto exchange with 50K+ users and $25M+ in transaction volume — before turning his focus to the broader infrastructure challenge: raising the intelligence of organizations across Africa.

At Cognito, Moore leads with a philosophy rooted in systems architecture: build infrastructure that integrates seamlessly, serves its context, and stands the test of time.

01“We're not just building technology for Africa. We're building systems that make technology work for Africa.”

02“Cognito would be about tools that helped people and businesses think better.”

03“We strive to deliver the best results with the least input, building systems that are compact yet powerful.”

04How we work

The engagement doesn’t end at handover

Fig. 02 — How an engagement runsWe stay accountable for the number.
The systems beneath the systems — load-bearing, and mostly invisible.
  • 01

    Intelligence is Integration

Most organizations are far less intelligent than the people inside them. Not because they hire poorly, but because perspectives die before they reach the decision-maker.

  • 02

    Context Over Convenience

We design for Africa's real complexities — layered, nuanced, and worth building intentionally for. Solutions must begin with the environment they serve.

  • 03

    Infrastructure is Power

The most impactful systems are often invisible — quietly enabling everything else to work at scale. We build the systems beneath the systems.

  • 04

    Depth Wins

We choose foundational thinking over fast fixes. Structured systems scale and endure. We have a 20-year vision, not a 2-year exit plan.
