How organizational intelligence is measured

Cognito Research is the part of the company that studies why organizations get slower as they grow. It maintains the scale we measure against, the diagnostic that applies it, and the writing that argues it out in public.

Most organizations are far less intelligent than the people inside them. Not because they hire poorly, but because perspectives die before they reach the decision-maker.

03The Dagz Scale

Perspectives integrated per decision

Our own instrument, and the reason we can name a bottleneck rather than describe one. It counts how many distinct perspectives are structurally integrated into each decision.

Count alone is not intelligence — more voices in a room can slow a decision as easily as sharpen it. What the scale measures is whether a perspective arrives in time, with context, to someone accountable.
