Cognito Systems introduces AI to help companies streamline operations

A Lagos-based technology company, Cognito System has introduced Martha AI, a customer support platform targeting businesses in the Web 3, e-commerce, and fintech industries to help them streamline operations, improve response times, and scale efficiently.

The firm which was Syx Labs rebrand to Cognito Systems, marking its transition from an experimental tech studio to a deep-tech company focused on artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, and smart systems infrastructure.

According to the firm, Martha AI reflects Cognito’s mission to turn advanced technology into practical systems that power real-world innovation.

Cognito Systems Founder and CEO, Moore Dagogo-Hart, said the company’s new direction reflects lessons learned from its early years and a commitment to greater structure and precision.

“Syx Labs will always be our foundation, but this chapter is about precision, depth, and structure turning the lessons from our early experiments into scalable systems that make technology work smarter and last longer ,” he said.

Founded in 2022, Syx Labs built the core technology behind Zap Africa, a non-custodial crypto exchange and wallet co-founded by Dagogo-Hart. Zap Africa currently serves more than 50,000 users and processes over $2 million in monthly transactions.

Since then, the team has supported several startups in developing enterprise-grade AI and blockchain products. Under the Cognito Systems brand, the company will broaden its scope to include infrastructure development, systems architecture consulting, and long-term technology partnerships with African enterprises.

Cognito Systems describes its philosophy as building “African-aware products” — technology adapted to the continent’s specific realities, including mobile-first usage, low-bandwidth environments, and integration with local payment systems.”

Dagogo-Hart said the company’s broader mission is to ensure that technology solutions are designed to work effectively for African markets.

“We’re not just building technology for Africa, we’re building systems that make technology work for Africa. The company also plans to expand its engineering capacity and product suite by 2026 to support multi-market operations across Africa and beyond,” he added.
